Croydon to become South London’s shopping meccaWednesday, November 22nd, 2017
Vita is set to be an even better place to live, with plans approved for a £1.4bn shopping centre for Croydon, further stimulating the ongoing wider regeneration of the town.
The Westfield shopping centre is set to create 7,000 new jobs and inject millions into the local economy.
The plans will transform the town’s two main shopping centres, Whitgift and Centrale, into a 1.5 million sq ft retail and leisure destination, making Croydon one of the best places to shop, work and live in South London.
The centre will have more than 300 shops, restaurants, cafes and leisure facilities – as well as a new multi-screen cinema and bowling alley.
Redevelopment work will start in 2019, with the new ‘super mall’ due to open by 2022.
